The pottery showcases exceptional artwork of two stallion horses intertwined and wrapping around the cylindrical form, featuring rich orange-red color with white and a beautiful glaze finish. Attributes of this pottery including the incredible surface textures and top quality artwork are highly comparable to the style of master ceramic and pottery artist Marcello Fantoni's work of this period. This pottery's concept as a lamp base is only indicated with two small clean round inserts (for lamp wiring and hardware) in the center of the bottom base and underside rim. This work was acquired form the original owners and was previously maintained and displayed under an enclosed glass. The pottery is in excellent condition.
This work measures approximately 16" height by 6.5" diameter. This pottery is hand marked to the underside base beneath the surface glaze "1521 Italy". Beautiful as standalone Italian decorative art or with a larger Mid-Century art pottery or ceramics collection.
